Let's celebrate our nurses
To celebrate International Nurses Day this Sunday, we're taking a moment to recognise the wonderful nurses who work right here at Townsville Shopping Centre.
The Cosmetic Registered Nurses at Laser Clinics Australia and SILK Laser Clinics use their skills and artistry to enhance appearances and build self-esteem. We asked them some questions to find out what motivates them.

What gets you out of bed every morning?
My kids & coffee!....oh and getting to curate my best life every day.

Favourite place to eat at Townsville Shopping Centre?
Lantern Mart - The Vietnamese food kiosk by Woolworths & Asian grocer. They have the best Pho. 👌

How long have you been a nurse?
Graduated at the end of 2019 BP (before pandemic) haha
Why did you choose to become a nurse?
I became a nurse because I love caring for people. After pursuing community nursing during COVID era, I decided I wanted to become an aesthetic nurse. Being an aesthetic nurse allows me to create art every day and work towards clients' skin goals so they can feel like their best self while achieving natural results. A different form of 'caring' that is refreshing for myself and the client. Building rapport with the clients along the way is just a bonus.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
My love for food

How long have you been a nurse?
I have been a Nurse for just over 3 years now
Why did you choose to become a nurse?
I decided to become a nurse after working as a Beauty Therapist and finding my passion for helping people achieve their aesthetics goals. I originally began my study with the goal of advancing my cosmetic skills but found I love being a clinical nurse as well. As a result I work part-time in aesthetics at Laser Clinics Australia and part-time at Mater Mothers Private.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
The thought that today will be another day to learn something new and the ability to engage with so many amazing people in all areas of my jobs.
When you’re not at work, you can be found….
I can be found in my yard caring for my plants, at the gym or hanging out with my dog.

Panda's Chinese Foodhouse, they have the best chicken Laska 🙂

How long have you been a nurse?
I have been a Nurse since 2022.
Why did you choose to become a nurse?
I have always had a strong interest in the medical field and a desire to help others. There is always something new to learn as a Nurse and my job allows me to make a positive difference in people's lives.
What gets you out of bed every morning?
Other than my young children, I truly love my job as a Cosmetic Nurse at SILK Laser Clinics, improving my clients' confidence by enhancing their natural features and helping people to feel like the best version of themselves is incredibly rewarding.
When you’re not at work, you can be found….?
Spending time with my family exploring the different parks and swimming pools around Townsville.
Favourite place to eat at Townsville Central?
Wrap & Roll Vietnamese (Lantern Mart) is my favourite. I love the Vietnamese iced coffee and the Crispy Tofu Bahn Mi. The best part is they're right next door.
